These terms govern your use of Pester, a task reminder service operated by Northgate Systems LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By using Pester, you agree to these terms.
Pester is a task extraction and reminder service. You send us content — emails, voice notes, screenshots, or text — and we use AI to extract action items and send you reminders until you mark them complete. That's it.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Pester. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. One account per person. Don't share your account credentials or your unique ingest email address with others in a way that would allow them to create tasks on your behalf without your knowledge.
Pester is a paid subscription service. Payments are processed through a third-party payment processor. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time — your access continues through the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.
Pricing: Nudge (Telegram) — $9.99/month. Shove (SMS) — $24.99/month. Siege (SMS + calls) — $99.99/month. Prices may change with 30 days notice.
Program name: Pester Task Reminders. Message frequency: Varies based on your active tasks and chosen nag intensity. May range from 1 to 10 messages per day. Message and data rates may apply. Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most US carriers.
To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message from Pester. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS reminders will be sent. To get help, reply HELP to any message or contact hello@pester.app.
Opting out of SMS does not cancel your subscription. To cancel your subscription and stop billing, manage your subscription through your customer portal or contact us.
The Nudge tier (Telegram) is available worldwide. The Shove and Siege tiers (SMS and voice) are available exclusively to users with United States or Canadian phone numbers (+1 country code). We do not support SMS or voice delivery to international numbers outside the US and Canada. If you subscribe to the Shove or Siege tier with a non-US/CA phone number, your subscription will be refunded and your account moved to the Nudge tier.
"Unlimited tasks" means unlimited within normal individual human use. Pester is designed for personal task management, not bulk data processing, automated workflows, or system integrations. To maintain service quality for all users, the following fair use limits apply:
Daily ingest limit: Up to 50 items per day per account across all ingest methods (email forwards, voice notes, screenshots, and text messages). Submissions beyond this daily limit will be held until the following day. Payload size limit: Individual submissions are limited to 15,000 characters for email and text content, and 60 seconds for voice notes. Content exceeding these limits will be rejected with a notice. Active task limit: Up to 200 active (uncompleted) tasks at any time. Complete or delete existing tasks to add more.
These limits are generous for any individual user and will never be reached through normal use. If you consistently hit them, Pester is not the right tool for your use case. We reserve the right to suspend accounts engaged in automated, scripted, or bulk usage that degrades service quality for other users. We will notify you before any suspension and provide an opportunity to adjust your usage.
You retain ownership of all content you send to Pester. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of extracting task reminders. We do not store your original content — only the extracted task summary. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
Do not send us content that is illegal, that you do not have the right to share, or that contains sensitive information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.
We provide task extraction and reminders on a best-effort basis. AI extraction is not perfect — tasks may be missed, misinterpreted, or incorrectly summarized. Pester is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional task management in safety-critical, legal, medical, or financial contexts. Do not rely on Pester as your sole reminder system for anything where failure would cause serious harm.
We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, experience outages, or need to temporarily suspend the service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime.
Don't abuse the service. This includes: attempting to overload our systems, reverse-engineering the service, using Pester to harass or send unwanted messages to others, creating multiple accounts to circumvent fair use limits, using automated scripts or bots to submit content, or using the service for any illegal purpose.
You can cancel your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, including the fair use policy, with or without notice depending on severity. Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Pester. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Pester is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the service. Continued use of Pester after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
