Pester is a task reminder service operated by Northgate Systems LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (for SMS tiers), and Telegram ID (if applicable). We also collect your timezone and reminder preferences to deliver nags at appropriate times. When you use the service, we collect the content you send us — emails, voice notes, screenshots, and text messages — for the sole purpose of extracting task reminders.
We do not store your original content. Emails, voice notes, and screenshots are processed in real-time by third-party AI services. Only the extracted task summary (typically a single sentence) and a brief preview of the source material (up to 500 characters) are retained. The original content is discarded immediately after processing.
Voice notes are transcribed using third-party speech-to-text services. Screenshots and emails are processed using third-party AI models. Our AI service providers do not use your data to train their models per our data processing agreements.
Content that exceeds our processing limits (15,000 characters for text, 60 seconds for voice) is rejected and not stored. Daily ingest limits apply per our Terms and Conditions.
We store your account information, extracted task summaries, reminder schedules, and nag history (when reminders were sent and how you responded). We do not store full email bodies, voice recordings, or original screenshots.
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers. All payment data is handled in compliance with PCI DSS Level 1 standards. We store only your customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
If you subscribe to our Shove or Siege tiers, we send task reminders to your phone number via a third-party messaging provider. SMS and voice features are available only for US and Canadian phone numbers (+1 country code). Message frequency varies based on your active tasks and chosen nag intensity. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
We store your phone number and a log of messages sent and received (timestamps and delivery status). We do not record voice calls.
We use third-party services to operate Pester, including: AI services for task extraction and voice transcription, a messaging provider for SMS and voice delivery, a payment processor for billing, and infrastructure providers for email routing and hosting. Your content is shared with these providers only as necessary to deliver the service. Our service providers do not use your data to train AI models per our data processing agreements.
Your data is stored in an encrypted database. Admin access is restricted and authenticated. We use HTTPS for all communications. We do not sell, share, or trade your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your account data and task history are retained while your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days in case you resubscribe, then permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.
You can request a copy of all data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and all associated data. Contact us at hello@pester.app for any data requests.
Pester is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the service. Continued use of Pester after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
